Dr. Claudia Cornell is a psychotherapist in private practice in Southern California, specializing in Intimate Partner Abuse with both victims and perpetrators. In pursuit of professional excellence, she earned a Doctorate Of Psychology degree in 1996 from the United State International University in San Diego, California. Dr. Cornell worked in association with a domestic violence agency for many years, providing therapy, advocacy and intervention for men, women and children, as well as running anger management groups for women. Dr. Cornell is an officer on the Board of Directors of S.A.V.E (Stop Abusive and Violent Environments). S.A.V.E is a national non-profit agency, dedicated to increasing accurate public awareness about Intimate Partner Abuse and to strengthening domestic violence legislation on state and federal levels. As a principal lobbyist for S.A.V.E., Dr. Cornell makes regular trips to Washington D.C. to meet with congressional staff on Capitol Hill, advocating for abuse victims on all sides of this problem. Dr. Cornell is an author, educator, consultant and public speaker. She is currently writing the ground-breaking new book, The Secret Lives of Abused Men and the Women Who Abuse Them, scheduled for release in 2011.
